We ensure we take everything we need i.e. emergency contact cards for the children, first aid kit, nappies and changing bag, (if required ) spare clothes, mobile phone fully charged, sun creams, drinks and snacks.

• We check the correct numbers of seats are fitted correctly and that all the seat belts are in full working order.
• Always make sure there is enough petrol for the journey that is to be undertaken.
• Make sure that all child locks are on and in fully operational before the start of the journey
• Always carry a fully charged mobile phone
• Make sure the car/minibus are kept clean and tidy after each journey. We always make sure that children in buggies are restraint correctly in a harness that is appropriate for the buggy being used
• Always make sure children have the correct safety harness in relation to their age and abilities
• Make sure children hold our hands when crossing roads,
• We never step out when pushing a buggy placing the buggy out first into the traffic,
• We always get the children to walk across the roads not run ahead.

When out, we carry details about ourselves explaining we are registered childminders, and contact cards for each child with their photo, name and an emergency contact name and number.
