All food in cupboards, fridge, and freezer are checked regularly to make sure it’s all to date. We check all toys that have been used throughout the day, any damage or broken ones are thrown away. And the dirty are cleaned with antibacterial wipes. The toilet and sink are cleaned with antibacterial solution each day.

Potty/Toilet Training

When you feel your child is ready to use a potty let us know and we will discuss putting it into practice. We will not pressure your child to use a potty but will consistently ask them if they need to go. The key to potty training is making sure your child is ready, for example they may not like the feel of a dirty nappy, they have dry periods for at least 3‐4 hours, can pull their own underwear up/down, tells you when they have done it or shows an interest when you go to the toilet.

Toddlers are usually ready to start toilet training after the age of two, some take much longer and can reach four before going to the toilet on their own.

Initially, we will create a routine where we may sit your child on a potty fully clothed once a day for a few days so they can get used to being on it, we will never force your child to sit on it if they don’t want to. If your child is happy with this then we will then sit them on it without a nappy and we will gently encourage them to go more often. We will reward them with a sticker each time they are successful and this will encourage them to go more often. After a couple of months, we shall move from the potty to the big toilet!!
