Child Protection and Allegations Against Staff Policy

Mantle Kidz aim to create a setting in which children are safe from abuse and in which any suspicion of abuse is promptly and appropriately responded to. As registered childminder’s we have a duty to be aware that abuse in all forms takes place in our society. We are aware of any behavioural and physical signs of abuse and should we have any fears regarding a child’s welfare then we will discuss this with the parents. If we suspect the child is at risk of serious harm then our first concern will be that of the child and we will immediately inform social services. If your child arrives with existing injury we will have to record this in the accident book which will also require an explanation as to how the injury happened and a signature from the parent. If your child has an accident while in our care this is also recorded and a signature is required by the parent. If it’s a serious accident then we would arrange to meet you at the local hospital.

We operate in accordance with Ofsted guidelines. Confidential records kept on children will be shared with Social Services Department. If a report on a child is to be made to the authorities, the child’s parents will be informed on the same day, immediately after the report is made.
