Giving Medication To Children and Emergencies

We must have written permission to be able to administer medication to your child whether it is on a regular basis or just a one-off time. We will not administer any medication that your child has not previously taken or any un-prescribed medication, this is in case of allergic reactions. If your child requires medication on a regular basis e.g. inhaler, then please make sure its brought in with your child at all times, your child will properly be able to administer the Inhaler themselves but we will still need a consent form signed. A medication record will be signed by us each day and will need a quick signature from a parent at collection time.
All medicines will be stored in a kitchen cupboard/fridge and kept well away from children at all times.

In Case Of Emergencies

If while in our care your child has a minor accident they will receive first aid and the injury will be logged into the accident book with a brief description of how it occurred. This will need signing at collection time to say you have been informed. If your child has a serious accident that requires being taken to the hospital then we will inform you immediately and with your consent will be asked to meet us there. (You will be asked to sign a consent form when doing the contract: to treat emergency treatment). We will make every effort to make your child safe whilst in our care but sometimes a minor bump or scratch cannot be avoided. It is very important that we have your up‐to‐date contact details, please make sure that if they change you let us know immediately.
